Exciting Come Behind Win At
WBFA Spring Fling Invitational

12 March 2005 - The WBFA Spring Fling was not without excitement,
a dramatic come from behind win topped an exciting weigh in on
the final day of the WBFA Spring Fling Pro/Am Invitational at
the Apalachicola River in Florida.
Sheri Glasgow of Muskogee, OK weighed in a limit
of 5 bass, weighing 17.63 lbs, with a Big Bass of 6.85 lbs and
a two day total of 19.22 lbs to win the WBFA Spring Fling Invitational.
The first day Sheri only had one fish for 1.59 lbs, but put it
all together for Saturday to take the win from Pam Martin Wells
of Bainbridge, GA. Pam brought in a 5 fish limit to finish in
2nd place with a total weight of 16.53 lbs. Finishing third was
Judy Wong of Sugarland, TX with a weight of 11.57lbs. Rounding
out the top five on the pro side were, Joan Craig, forth place,
of London, AR. with a two day total of 11.11 lbs and last years
winner, Betty Stahl of Guntersville, AL finished in 5th place
with at total of 10.50.
Sheri Glasgow said that she caught her fish using
a lizard in a purple color, but would not tell any more. Pam
Martin Wells said that she was using a TEKHI bait but would not
say what color at the time but after talking to her she also
said it had purple in it.
On the amateur side Robin Babb of Livingston, TX
held on to her first day lead adding another 2 fish to bring
her total to 20.56 lbs and also winning Big Bass honors both
days with another one that weighed in at 5.71 lbs. Robin won
Big Bass money both days on the amateur side. Second place went
to Lisa Craig of Chandler, TX with a total weight of 8.31 lbs
and third was Liz Sanders of Brandon, MO with a total of 7.67
lbs. Rounding out the top five were Mary Lipka of Wentzville,
MO with 6.63 lbs and Kathryn Gibson of Spring Hill, TN with 6.13
lbs.

WBFA Spring Fling Invitational
Gulf County, Florida - Day 1

11 Mar 05 - The WBFA Spring Fling on the Apalachicola River
officially kicked off on Thursday evening with the meetings and
food. The meeting place was provided by Ralph Rish, with the
help of Carmen MacLamore, Gulf County Commissioner, and the Gulf
County Development Board. Food was catered by Curtis Bear of
Sea Breeze BBQ, Port St. Joe, Florida. We wish to thank all for
the GREAT time that the competitors had.
The take off on Friday morning was delayed about
35 minutes due to heavy fog on the river. Weigh in times were
extended due to the late take off.
After the first day of competition, Pro angler Tammy Richardson
of Amity, AR. had 4 fish weighing in at 10.33 lbs with a the
big bass for the day of 4.31 lbs. In second place is Patsy McDaniel
of Gordo, AL who brought in 3 fish weighing 9.13 lbs. And in
third place is Pam Martin Wells of Bainbridge, GA, who weighed
in 1 of only 2 limits today. She had 5 fish weighing in at 9.09
lbs.
On the Amateur side, holding the lead with 4 fish
weighing 11.53 lbs and big bass of 3.84 lbs is Robin Babb of
Livingston, TX. In second is Lisa Craig of Chandler, TX, with
4 fish weighing 7.09 lbs and rounding out the top 3 is Liz Sanders
of Brandon, MO. with 3 fish weighing 6.40 lbs. This sets up an
exciting finish for tomorrows weigh in with several close races.
